As our Legal Counsel, reporting to the Head of Legal, you’ll be a genuine business partner to our Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain and Technology teams, advising on a broad range of commercial contracts and matters across Australia and New Zealand.

This 12-month opportunity is built for an experienced lawyer who enjoys variety and wants to keep learning. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business (including the Chief Legal Officer and other members of the C-Suite), build relationships that matter, help teams navigate legal issues, balance commercial priorities with risk, and turn complex advice into clear, practical solutions. It’s a chance to broaden your skills across practice areas you may not have worked in before, with the autonomy and trust that comes with your experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE

One day you might be negotiating a technology deal, the next reviewing a national marketing campaign, advising on a supply chain arrangement or working through a franchising, regulatory or compliance issue. We want you to bring your whole self, and we’ll give you real exposure to our cross-functional business partners and the decisions that shape our brand.

You’ll bring this to life across three key areas:

Provide commercially focused advice

- Be the go-to legal adviser for our Marketing, Technology, Supply Chain and Operations Teams on a broad range of legal matters.
- Negotiate, draft and manage a diverse portfolio of contracts with our suppliers, vendors, agencies and others across marketing, technology, supply chain,



operations and regulatory matters.
- Assist with contractual disputes and litigation, working alongside external advisers.

Support our brand and franchise network

- Review marketing and promotional materials for compliance with relevant laws and industry codes.
- Prepare documentation and advise on franchising matters, including store transfers and the termination of franchise relationships.
- Provide advice on intellectual property, privacy, serious customer complaints and food illness reporting.

Build capability and strong partnerships

- Implement and monitor legal training and compliance programs, including modern slavery and privacy.
- Work collaboratively with business teams, franchisees and the wider legal team.
- Manage external legal advisers to deliver relevant, cost-efficient support.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

- A Bachelor of Laws and a current Practising Certificate.
- At least five years’ postgraduate legal experience.
- Commercial law firm and in-house experience preferred, but we’re still interested to hear from lawyers considering their first step out of law firms too.
- Strong general commercial law experience, with excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Commercial judgment and a practical, resilient, solutions-focused approach to balancing business priorities with legal risk.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to advise and influence business teams, franchisees and suppliers.
- Strong relationship-building skills and confidence managing competing priorities.
- Initiative and the ability to work independently while staying connected to a collaborative legal team.




- Experience working with multinational organisations will be highly regarded.
