About the role

Griffiths Rice & Co. is seeking a Family Lawyer with at least two years PAE as an essential requirement to join our legal team on a part-time or full-time basis at our office in Midland.

As a Family Lawyer, you will provide expert legal advice and representation in family law matters, working collaboratively with our experienced team to deliver compassionate and strategic solutions. Key responsibilities

- Providing comprehensive legal advice to clients on family law matters, including divorce, separation, property division and financial settlements

- Representing clients in family law proceedings before the courts, including mediation and negotiation sessions

- Drafting and reviewing legal documentation such as agreements, applications, affidavits and court submissions

- Conducting client consultations and maintaining clear communication throughout legal proceedings

- Managing case files and maintaining accurate records in accordance with professional standards and statutory requirements

- Liaising with opposing counsel, courts and other relevant parties to progress matters efficiently

- Advising on matters involving children, parenting arrangements and family law reform

- Providing guidance on ancillary relief and financial matters arising from family breakdown

- Contributing to the development and maintenance of legal templates and practice resources

What we're looking for

- Admission to legal practice in Western Australia with a current practising certificate

- Substantial experience in family law, ideally with a minimum of 2-3 years' post-qualification experience

- Demonstrated expertise in managing divorce, separation, property and parenting matters

- Strong knowledge of the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth)



and relevant state legislation

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients

- Proven negotiation and advocacy skills, with experience in court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution

- The ability to manage multiple cases with competing deadlines whilst maintaining high standards of work

- Strong interpersonal skills with empathy and sensitivity when dealing with clients in distress

- A commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality and maintaining the highest standards of client care

- Preferred: Experience in collaborative family law, mediation or alternative dispute resolution
