Looking for a flexible additional income opportunity that fits around your existing hospital, GP or private practice commitments?

Quantum Medical Imaging is seeking AHPRA-registered doctors, including Medical Officers and Hospital Registrars, to join our casual contrast cover pool across our Browns Plains, Loganholme, Victoria Point and Rochedale clinics.

This is a great opportunity to earn additional income without the demands of a traditional clinical consulting role. The position is primarily a standby role, providing an in office medical safety net for patients undergoing contrast imaging.

The best part? When everything is running smoothly, you're free to study, catch up on reading, work on your laptop or use the time productively as you wish. You simply need to remain on-site, immediately available and ready to respond if required.

The role

As the supervising contrast doctor, you'll provide on-site medical cover while patients are receiving contrast during imaging procedures.

Your responsibilities include:

- Remaining on-site and available throughout contrast administration.

- Responding to and managing contrast reactions, including anaphylaxis, in accordance with relevant clinical guidelines.

- Checking the location and readiness of the emergency trolley at the beginning of each shift.

- Completing incident documentation following any adverse event.

- Assisting radiographers with difficult cannulations when requested.





- Supporting our CTCA service by assessing patient vitals and prescribing oral beta blockers and GTN in accordance with our in-house cardiologist's protocols (IV blockers are not administered on-site).

- Fortnightly payments as an independent contractor.

What you'll need

- Current, active AHPRA registration.

- Appropriate clinical experience and competence to independently manage contrast reactions, including anaphylaxis.

- Comprehensive medical indemnity insurance.

- Current ALS2 certification.

- Completion of our on-site emergency trolley and clinic induction before commencing (refreshed every six months).
