About the role

Coolsteel Fabrication is a light fabrication company specializing in custom fabrication of galvanized and Mild steel items but predominantly Stainless Steel.

Coolsteel Fabrication is Looking for a Qualified Sheet Metal Tradesperson who has extensive Stainless Steel Fabrication experience to join our team.

As a Sheet Metal Fabrication Tradesperson, you will create, plan, fabricate and install custom items based on everything from shop drawings to a cardboard mud map. Every day is different, fabricating quality, custom sheet metal items for commercial kitchens, bars, restaurants, builders, residential, plumbing, electrical and aircon clients.

The role is predominantly workshop based in Cockburn Central, working Mon - Thurs 7am-3:30pm, with early finish on Fridays - 7am - 1pm.

Key responsibilities

- Create, plan, fabricate and install custom sheet metal items

- Operate Guillotine and Hydraulic press brake

- Perform TIG welding on thin gauge stainless (1.2mm)

- Perform MIG welding

- Polish welds on stainless steel back to a #4 finish





- Problem solve on custom fabrication projects

- Work unsupervised

- Fabricate items for commercial kitchens, bars, restaurants, builders, residential, plumbing, electrical and aircon clients

About you

- Sheet metal fabrication (light) trade qualification required

- Extensive stainless steel fabrication experience

- Competent in using a Guillotine and a Hydraulic press brake

- Competent in TIG welding thin gauge stainless (1.2mm)

- Competent in MIG welding

- Competent in polishing welds on stainless steel back to a #4 finish

- Custom fabrication experience essential, able to problem solve

- Ability to work unsupervised

- Physically fit (some heavy lifting is involved)

- Valid Manual drivers license, white card, and valid working in Australia rights (no sponsorship available)

- Be able to pass a D&A; test

- Competent In speaking and reading English
