Job description:

We are recruiting Disability Support Workers to provide in-home and community-based support to NDIS participants with a range of support needs.

Depending on the participant, responsibilities may include:

- Supporting participants with daily living activities and developing independence.
- Assisting with personal care, meal preparation and household tasks.
- Supporting community access, appointments and social activities.
- Implementing individual support plans and approved behaviour support strategies.
- Supporting participants with complex care needs in line with their individual support plans, training and required competencies.
- Encouraging positive communication, emotional regulation and daily routines.
- Maintaining accurate case notes and incident documentation.
- Building positive, respectful and professional relationships with participants and their families.

Location: Western Suburbs, VIC

Mandatory:

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain them.
- Current Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Valid Australian driver's licence.
- Reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills appropriate to the role.
- Ability to provide safe, respectful and person-centred support.
- Reliability, professionalism and a willingness to work collaboratively.
- Australian working rights.

Highly Regarded:

- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or a related qualification.
- Previous experience providing one-on-one disability support.
- Experience supporting individuals on the Autism Spectrum (ASD), particularly those with higher support needs.
- Experience supporting participants with behaviours of concern.
- Knowledge of positive behaviour support, communication strategies, sensory needs and structured routines.
- Experience with personal care, medication support or complex care requirements.
