Job Description: School Crossing Patrol Officer

About the Role

We are seeking reliable, responsible and safety-conscious School Crossing Patrol Officers to help ensure the safety of students, parents and pedestrians at school crossings in Woollahra, NSW.

As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you will play an important role in helping children cross roads safely during busy school arrival and departure times. The ideal candidate will be punctual, approachable, alert and committed to maintaining a safe environment for the local school community.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely assist school children and pedestrians to cross roads at designated school crossings.
- Monitor traffic and identify potential hazards to ensure the safety of pedestrians.
- Operate approved crossing equipment and follow road safety procedures.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with students, parents, motorists and school staff.
- Maintain a visible and professional presence at the crossing.
- Follow all relevant workplace health and safety requirements and traffic management procedures.
- Report incidents, hazards or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Arrive on time and remain attentive throughout assigned crossing duties.

- Responsible, reliable and punctual.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive in a busy road environment.




- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Patient, approachable and confident when interacting with children and the public.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures and workplace policies.
- Willingness to complete any required training and screening, including a Working With Children Check where applicable.
- Previous experience in traffic control, school supervision or a similar role is an advantage but not essential.
