Fortitude Protective Services is looking for motivated, professional and dependable Retail Security Officers to join our expanding team. Opportunities are available across a range of retail environments, including major shopping centres and standalone retail stores throughout Sydney.

We are seeking security professionals who take pride in their work, maintain a strong security presence and deliver excellent customer service.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Retail Security Officer, you will be responsible for protecting staff, customers, visitors and retail assets while helping maintain a safe and welcoming shopping environment.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, alert and confident in identifying potential security concerns while handling situations professionally and calmly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performing routine patrols of retail premises and surrounding areas
- Identifying, deterring and responding to theft, shoplifting and loss prevention incidents
- Operating and monitoring CCTV systems where required
- Recognising and reporting suspicious behaviour, safety hazards and security risks
- Providing professional customer service and assisting staff and shoppers
- Responding to emergencies and liaising with emergency services when necessary
- Maintaining compliance with site procedures, store policies and security protocols
- Completing accurate security logs, incident reports and relevant documentation





REQUIREMENTS

- Current NSW Security Licence – Mandatory
- Current First Aid Certificate – Mandatory
- Previous retail security or loss prevention experience highly regarded
- Strong verbal communication and written reporting skills
- Qualified presentation and a customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends and busy trading periods
- Reliable, punctual and capable of working independently or within a team
- Ability to remain alert and professional when managing challenging situations
