We’re looking for an experienced, passionate and personable hospitality professional to join our team at Maeve.

Maeve is a busy and popular pre-theatre destination for guests attending shows at QPAC. We pride ourselves on great hospitality, genuine guest engagement, an engaging wine offering and a team that takes real pride in what they do. We work closely with our owners, who are genuinely passionate about hospitality, wine and creating memorable experiences for our guests.

This role is for someone who genuinely enjoys looking after people. We’re not simply looking for someone to take orders and run food. We want someone who can confidently manage their own section, build a rapport with guests, guide them through our menu, recommend food and drinks, and help create an enjoyable experience from the moment they arrive.

The role

- Independently manage a section of approximately 8 tables (around 25 guests).
- Welcome and engage with guests, making them feel comfortable and well looked after.
- Confidently explain the menu, guide guests through ordering and make thoughtful food and drink recommendations.
- Have an understanding of how the venue and kitchen operate, communicating this to guests where appropriate.
- Take pride in your service, attention to detail and ability to anticipate what guests need.
- Work collaboratively with a close-knit team in a busy, fast-paced service environment.
- Develop your wine knowledge and confidence with our regularly changing wines by the glass. Wine knowledge is a bonus, but training will be provided.





What we're looking for

- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a section waiter in a full table-service restaurant. This is essential.
- Confidence independently managing a section and looking after your own guests.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering thoughtful, attentive service.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently talk guests through food and drinks.
- Someone who is organised, proactive, personable and enjoys working as part of a team.
- Cleaning, opening and closing, assisting in daily operations.
- An interest in food and wine, with a willingness to continue learning.

Pay: $26.44 – $47.98 per hour
