Up In Stone North Queensland is currently looking for a Qualified Tiler with at least 2 years experience to join the team in North Qld.

This will be a full time role, 38 hours per week.

Up In Stone North Queensland PTY Ltd (ABN 46 665 558 823) is a residential / commercial building and renovation business based in North Qld. Due to ongoing project demand, we are looking for an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will work on bathrooms, kitchens, living areas and commercial premises, taking jobs from preparation through to final finish.

Key duties

- Read building plans and specifications to work out tiling layouts, materials and installation needs
- Measure and mark wall and floor surfaces for accurate tile placement and alignment
- Remove existing tiles, grout and adhesives, and prepare surfaces for current work
- Repair surface imperfections, fill cracks and level substrates
- Apply waterproofing membranes to wet areas in line with Australian Standards
- Measure, cut and shape ceramic, porcelain, marble and stone tiles, including around fixtures, corners and edges
- Spread adhesives and lay wall and floor tiles on internal and external surfaces
- Keep spacing, alignment and levels consistent throughout the job
- Apply grout, seal joints and clean off excess materials for a durable finish




- Install decorative stonework, feature walls and paving to project specifications
- Inspect completed work and fix any defects to meet workmanship standards
- Maintain tools and equipment and follow safe work practices on site

About you

- Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling, or an equivalent qualification
- At least 12 months of relevant full-time experience as a tiler
- Demonstrated ability to interpret construction plans, measure surfaces and accurately establish tile layouts for residential and commercial projects.
- Practical experience preparing substrates, applying adhesives and installing ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tiles to skilled standards.
- Sound knowledge of waterproofing procedures, surface preparation techniques and applicable Australian building and construction standards is essential.
- Proven ability to operate tile-cutting equipment, shape materials accurately and complete grouting and finishing work independently.
- Experience undertaking bathroom renovations, decorative stone installations, feature walls or external paving within construction and renovation environments.
- Ability to maintain safe working practices, manage assigned tasks efficiently and consistently deliver accurate, highquality tiling finishes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
