We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Procurement Officer for a 4-5 week temporary assignment with a well-established SMEATON GRANGE business.

Working closely with management, you will review existing supplier arrangements, source alternate providers and identify opportunities to achieve cost savings for the business.

Responsibilities:

- Review current supplier arrangements, pricing and contracts

- Contact existing suppliers to discuss pricing and negotiate improved rates

- Research and identify alternative suppliers and service providers

- Obtain, analyse, and compare competitive quotations

- Review expenditure across a range of areas such as local and international freight, warehousing, utilities, and general business services





- Assess value for money, service quality, and overall supplier performance

- Present recommendations and potential cost savings to management

- Maintain accurate records of supplier comparisons, negotiations and potential savings achieved

The type of person we are looking for would have a solid background in procurement, sourcing or a similar role and ideally has had experience negotiating with freight/logistics/warehousing providers.
