Zerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports.
We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Small Engine Mechanic to join our team on a full-time permanent basis, supporting operations at our Parilla site in South Australia.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team. Reporting directly to the Farm Workshop Manager you will be working in an outdoor farm environment.
An attractive remuneration package between $75,000 - $90,000 is available to the right candidates.
Duties include
- Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in two-stroke and four-stroke petrol engines and small diesel engines.
- Dismantle, repair and reassemble engines and mechanical components, replacing worn or defective parts to manufacturer specifications.
- Service, repair and overhaul engine-driven irrigation and transfer pumps, including engines, couplings, impellers, seals and bearings, and restore pump operation promptly to protect crop watering schedules.
- Maintain and repair chainsaws, brush cutters, line trimmers, mowers, slashers, blowers, generators, air compressors, pressure washers and small sprayers.
- Service and repair quad bikes,
side-by-sides and farm motorbikes, including engines, drives, brakes and electrical systems.
- Undertake routine servicing and pre-season checks on tractors, harvesters, UTEs and other farm machinery (oil and filter changes, greasing, belts, hoses, batteries and tyres), referring major repairs to the workshop or diesel mechanics.
- Test and adjust equipment after repair for correct and secure performance.
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance and keep service records and equipment registers up to date.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts, ordering replacements as required.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field and carry out on-site repairs where safe to do so.
- Report any maintenance, quality or safety problems or concerns to the Farm Manager.
- All other requirements as directed to achieve business objectives.
This position will require weekend and night work in line with production demands.
