Mathematics Pointt is a growing education provider based in Craigieburn, Victoria, specialising in academic excellence, skill development and examination preparation for primary and secondary school students.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Selective School & Scholarship English Tutor to join our teaching team.

This chance is ideal for a high-achieving university student, an experienced coaching institute tutor or a qualified VIT registered teacher who has proven experience preparing students for Victorian selective school entrance and scholarship examinations.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging, structured, face-to-face English lessons to students preparing for selective school entrance and scholarship examinations.
- Teach English skills aligned with ACER and EduTest examination formats.
- Develop students' reading comprehension, verbal reasoning, vocabulary, grammar and analytical thinking skills.
- Teach creative and persuasive writing, including essay structure, planning, time management and examination techniques.
- Prepare students for scholarship examinations conducted by leading Victorian private schools.
- Guide students through examination-style questions, practice tests and timed writing tasks.
- Assess students' written work and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
- Adapt teaching approaches to suit different learning abilities while maintaining a challenging and supportive classroom environment.
- Prepare or adapt suitable teaching resources, practice questions and writing exercises.

Essential Requirements

- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching selective school entrance English,



preferably at an established tutoring or coaching institute.
- Strong working knowledge of ACER and EduTest examination formats, particularly English, reading comprehension, verbal reasoning and writing.
- Demonstrated experience preparing students for selective school entrance examinations and school scholarship tests.
- Strong academic background in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to teach creative and persuasive writing and provide meaningful feedback.
- Ability to confidently engage and manage upper-primary and early-secondary students in small-group classes.
- Valid Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Location & Travel: As this is a face-to-face teaching role, applicants should reside in Melbourne’s northern suburbs and be able to reliably travel to Craigieburn at their own expense.

Highly Regarded

- Graduate of a Victorian selective school or another reputable school with a strong academic record, preferably a VCE English study score of 40 or above.
- Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registered teachers with experience teaching VCE English are also encouraged to apply.




- Previous teaching experience at a recognised selective school or scholarship preparation institute.
- Experience designing examination-style English questions, writing prompts and mock assessments.
- Familiarity with the expectations of Victorian selective school and private school scholarship examinations.
