Flower Grower – Full-Time

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Flower Grower to plan, coordinate and undertake the commercial production of flowering and foliage plants. The successful applicant will oversee growing operations, maintain crop quality and organise harvesting and preparation for market.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Plan seasonal flower production and planting schedules according to growing conditions, customer orders and market demand.
- Select and source suitable seeds, bulbs, seedlings and propagation material to meet production and quality targets.
- Coordinate soil preparation, propagation, planting, pruning and other cultivation activities.
- Develop and implement irrigation, fertilisation and crop nutrition programs to maintain healthy plants and productive growing conditions.
- Monitor crop health and implement appropriate pest, weed, disease and biosecurity controls.
- Organise harvesting, grading, post-harvest treatment, storage and packaging to preserve flower quality and shelf life.
- Coordinate product sales, customer orders and dispatch arrangements with buyers and suppliers.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of growing facilities, machinery, irrigation systems and farm equipment.




- Maintain and analyse production records, yields, costs and crop performance to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Plan production expenditure, monitor budgets and coordinate purchasing of farm supplies.
- Train and supervise farm workers and contractors, ensuring safe work practices and consistent production standards.

Skills and Experience

- Relevant qualifications in horticulture, floriculture, agriculture or a related field, or substantial relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial flower growing and coordinating crop production.
- Sound knowledge of propagation, irrigation, plant nutrition and pest and disease management.
- Experience in harvesting, grading and post-harvest handling of flowers.
- Strong planning, recordkeeping, communication and team supervision skills.
- Ability to work independently and undertake practical tasks in a commercial growing workplace.
