About us
Prime Mining supplies mining engineers, geologists, surveyors and geotechnical engineers to some of Australia’s biggest mining companies. Our clients include Newmont, BHP, Glencore and Thiess. We have around 100 staff working on sites across Australia, all supported by a head office team of three. We run lean. We use in house systems and AI to do work most firms hire whole teams for.

The role
You’ll work directly with our Director and take a big chunk of the day to day work off his plate. You’ll shadow him for the first few weeks, then run tasks on your own.

This role is based in our Sunnybank office, five days a week. You’ll work side by side with the Director while you learn the business.

Your week will include

- Booking flights, cars and accommodation for engineers heading to site
- Onboarding new starters into our timesheet system and SharePoint
- Processing payroll tasks, long service leave and supplier payments in Xero
- Updating client vendor portals like SAP Fieldglass
- Screening CVs and shortlisting candidates
- Running LinkedIn outreach and managing the inbox
- Building and maintaining spreadsheets and databases





You’ll use AI tools like Claude every day to draft, screen and calculate. Then you’ll check the work, make the call and get it done.

About you

- Two or more years in admin or coordination, ideally in recruitment, labour hire or mining
- You already use AI tools daily and can show us how
- Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills
- Some payroll or accounts experience. Xero is a bonus
- Explicit, clean communication
- You work independently and don’t need to check in on every task

Experience with FIFO rosters, Coal LSL or SAP Fieldglass will help you stand out, however this can be taught so not essential.
