Disability Support Worker – AOD & Mental Health

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Disability Support Worker with demonstrated experience in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), substance-use relapse, mental health and psychosocial disability. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of addiction, harm minimisation, trauma-informed care, de-escalation and professional boundaries.

Key responsibilities

Provide hands-on support to participants experiencing active substance use or relapse

Build trust with individuals who may sometimes decline or disengage from support

Apply trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques

Maintain skilled boundaries and person-centred support





Manage irregular shifts and flexible availability as required

About you

Previous hands-on experience supporting participants experiencing active substance use or relapse

Patient, non-judgmental, reliable and capable of building trust

Qualifications in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health or Community Services are highly regarded

Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

Strong communication and risk-management skills

Comfortable with irregular shifts and flexible availability
