An established pool business in southern Sydney is looking for a commercially minded General Manager to take responsibility for running and growing the business. The operation combines a retail pool shop with a mobile pool cleaning and technical service team, serving a loyal local customer base. The role is fully on-site.

We’ll also consider experienced pool shop managers ready to step up into general management. Salary will reflect experience.

The role

This is a hands-on leadership role with accountability for the whole business: people, operations, customer experience, financial performance and growth. You’ll lead a small team, improve how the business operates and build on its reputation for reliable service. You’ll also be the go-to person when customers bring in a water sample or a pool problem. Pool shop or pool service experience is essential, as are strong operational management and commercial skills.

What you’ll do

- Take ownership of day-to-day business performance, including sales, stock control, purchasing, staffing and customer service, and work with the owners to identify opportunities to grow the business
- Coordinate the pool cleaning and technical service teams, including scheduling, job completion, customer follow-up and service quality, working closely with experienced technicians on technical matters
- Maintain accurate customer records, job bookings, invoicing and stock information, and use simple reporting to monitor sales, customer service and operational performance
- Test and interpret water samples,



and recommend treatments that fix the problem the first time
- Diagnose common pool and spa issues: green pools, cloudy water, algae, staining, and faults with pumps, filters and saltwater chlorinators
- Lead, roster and train shop staff and casual pool cleaners, matching staffing to seasonal demand
- Manage supplier relationships, ordering and deliveries

Essential

- Pool shop or pool service experience. You can confidently interpret a water test and handle everyday customer questions without guessing.
- Experience managing or supervising a retail or service operation
- Solid customer service and organisational skills
- Ability to take responsibility for daily operations and staff
- Able to work on-site in southern Sydney (no remote or hybrid option)

Pay: $90,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year

Experience:
