Aulian Wine International Trading Pty Ltd, trading as AULIAN Wines, operates in the wine industry, with activities spanning wine production and international trade. We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to carry out wine laboratory testing and support quality control throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities

· Collect, prepare and analyse grape, juice, fermenting wine, finished wine and wastewater samples, ensuring sample integrity and reliable results.

· Conduct chemical and physical testing, including pH, titratable acidity, residual sugar, malic acid, volatile acidity, alcohol, density, Baumé, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, and free and total sulphur dioxide.

· Operate, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments, including pH meters, titrators, density meters and other wine analysis equipment.

· Monitor fermentation progress, carry out fining and stability trials, and provide timely analytical data to support winemaking and quality control decisions.

· Prepare and standardise laboratory reagents and solutions, and follow workplace health and safety procedures for chemical handling, storage and disposal.

· Coordinate daily laboratory workloads and scheduled testing with production requirements to ensure timely completion and reporting.

· Maintain accurate laboratory and production records, enter test results into relevant systems, and prepare laboratory reports and technical documentation.





· Monitor laboratory stocks and coordinate orders for chemicals, reagents, consumables and equipment.

· Conduct wastewater and environmental sample testing, report results and assist with laboratory quality assurance and proficiency testing activities.

· Communicate analytical findings and any unusual results to winemakers and production staff, and assist with investigations and follow-up testing.

Qualifications

· A bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Analytical Science, Viticulture and Oenology, Food Science or a related discipline.

· At least three years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in wine, beverages or food production.

· Sound knowledge of analytical testing methods, laboratory quality assurance and safe chemical handling procedures.

· Practical experience operating, calibrating and maintaining laboratory instruments, with the ability to identify and resolve routine technical issues.

· Robust attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping and the ability to interpret and report analytical results.

· Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with winemaking and production teams.

· Proficiency in laboratory data entry and relevant computer systems, and the ability to manage competing testing priorities.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
