Australian Tuition places registered Queensland teachers with families across Brisbane. We’re hiring a registered primary teacher to work one-on-one with a Year 3 student in Chapel Hill who is finding maths concepts difficult.

The role

- One-on-one, in the family’s home in Chapel Hill
- Weekly, after school or weekend — time to be agreed with the family
- Year 3 maths: number sense, place value, operations, fractions — building understanding, not drilling worksheets
- No diagnosed learning difficulty. This is a capable student who hasn’t yet clicked with some concepts
- A short written note to the parents after each session (template provided, takes two minutes)
- More work available — we have ongoing demand across Brisbane’s western suburbs

You’ll need

- Current QCT registration (Queensland College of Teachers)
- Primary teaching experience, ideally lower to middle primary
- The ability to teach a concept three different ways, with concrete materials, when the first way doesn’t land
- Blue Card (Working with Children Check), or eligibility to obtain one
- Reliable transport to Chapel Hill
- Living in Australia with valid work rights

Who this suits

Relief and supply teachers wanting regular weekly hours. Teachers working part-time, on leave, or returning after a break. Retired primary teachers. Ideally you live in or near Chapel Hill, Kenmore, Indooroopilly, Taringa, Toowong, Fig Tree Pocket or Brookfield.

Please include in your application

- Your QCT registration number
- Which year levels you’ve taught, and how long in lower primary
- Your suburb and travel time to Chapel Hill
- Which afternoons or weekend times you’re available
- Blue Card status

Applications without a QCT number won’t be progressed.

What we offer

- $55 per hour plus superannuation, paid weekly
- We handle the family, the scheduling and the payment — you teach
- Additional students available if you want more hours
- Casual and versatile — take one student or several
