About the Role

Mangat Transport Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking experienced and reliable Truck Drivers (HC/HR) to join our transport and logistics operations in Adelaide, South Australia.

The successful applicants will be responsible for operating heavy commercial vehicles to transport and distribute freight across metropolitan Adelaide and regional South Australia. The position involves ensuring the safe handling, loading, transportation and delivery of goods while complying with relevant road transport legislation and workplace safety standards.

Tasks & Responsibilities

- Operate Heavy Combination (HC) or Heavy Rigid (HR) trucks to transport commercial freight.
- Manoeuvre heavy vehicles safely into position for loading and unloading.
- Load and unload freight where required, using appropriate equipment and safe handling procedures.




- Inspect and secure freight to prevent damage or loss during transportation.
- Check freight weights, load distribution and vehicle load limits.
- Perform daily pre-start inspections and regular vehicle safety checks.
- Safely couple and uncouple trailers when operating HC vehicles.
- Transport goods according to assigned delivery routes and schedules.
- Verify consignment details, delivery documentation and the condition of transported goods.
- Obtain proof of delivery and maintain accurate transport records.
- Complete driver work diaries and comply with applicable fatigue management requirements.
- Follow National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) requirements and relevant road transport legislation.
- Identify and report mechanical faults, vehicle defects and safety concerns.
- Maintain regular communication with dispatch personnel and customers.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained in a clean, safe and roadworthy condition.

Qualifications & Experience

- Current and valid Australian Heavy Combination (HC) or Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver's Licence.
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant professional experience operating heavy commercial vehicles.
- Demonstrated experience in freight transportation or commercial goods distribution.
- Knowledge of heavy vehicle operations, road safety and transport regulations.




- Understanding of load restraint, vehicle weight limits and fatigue management requirements.
- Experience with vehicle inspections and transport documentation.
- Ability to safely operate and manoeuvre heavy commercial vehicles.
- Good communication, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow delivery schedules.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Willingness to undertake metropolitan and regional deliveries as required.
