Carpet Court Kadina is looking for an experienced, motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Consultant to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has a proven background in sales and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer experiences.

As part of Australia's largest retail flooring and window furnishings group, you'll be representing a trusted national brand backed by a locally owned, community and family focused business.

You'll help customers transform their homes by providing expert advice across our extensive range of carpets, hard flooring, curtains and blinds.

Importantly, this is not an entry-level retail position. We are looking for someone with genuine sales experience, strong numerical ability, excellent organisation skills and the confidence to manage customer projects from the initial enquiry through to the final installation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a varied and rewarding position where you'll combine sales, customer service, product knowledge, measuring, quoting and project coordination.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Showroom Sales: Welcoming customers, building rapport, understanding their needs and confidently recommending suitable flooring and window furnishing solutions.
- Sales & Customer Relationships: Converting enquiries into sales, following up leads, maintaining customer relationships and providing exceptional service throughout the customer journey.
- Floor Plans & Measurements: Reading and interpreting house plans, floor plans and scaled drawings to determine flooring requirements and calculate accurate square metreage.
- Quoting & Estimating: Preparing accurate and detailed quotes, calculating material requirements and ensuring attention to detail throughout the quoting process.
- Orders & Coordination: Processing customer orders, liaising with suppliers and coordinating with local measuring and installation teams.
- Administration: Managing customer information, enquiries, quotes, emails and multiple projects using computer systems.




- Showroom Presentation: Maintaining an attractive, organised and inspiring showroom, ensuring displays and product presentations are kept to a high standard.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking someone who is confident, proactive, commercially minded and genuinely enjoys selling.

Essential requirements:

- Previous proven experience in retail sales, sales consulting, account management or a similar customer-facing sales role.
- Strong sales ability with a demonstrated capacity to build customer relationships, identify needs and convert enquiries into sales.
- Confident numerical and mathematical skills, including measurements, calculations and square metreage.
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans, scaled drawings or technical plans, or demonstrable experience working with measurements and technical drawings.
- Strong computer literacy, including email, quoting systems, POS and general administration.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple customers, quotes and projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a professional presentation.
- Reliability, initiative and the ability to work independently as well as within a small team.

EXPERIENCE THAT WILL BE HIGHLY REGARDED

Experience in any of the following industries will be an advantage:

- Flooring, carpet, timber, laminate or vinyl sales.
- Curtains, blinds, window furnishings or textiles.
- Building, construction, renovations or building supplies.
- Tiles, kitchens, bathrooms or home improvement products.
- Furniture, interior design or specialised homewares.
- Measuring, estimating, quoting or coordinating installation projects.

We are also open to candidates with strong transferable sales experience who can demonstrate excellent numerical skills,



spatial awareness and the ability to learn technical product knowledge.
