Australian Tuition places registered Queensland teachers with families across South East Queensland. We’re hiring a registered teacher to work with a student at home in Pimpama who will be in Year 9 in 2027.

This is curriculum teaching, not after-school catch-up. You’ll be delivering the Queensland curriculum to one student, in her home, two days a week.

The role

- 2 days per week, 3 hours per day (6 hours weekly) — days and times adaptable, to be agreed with the family
- One-on-one, in the family’s home in Pimpama
- Teaching to the Queensland curriculum, Year 9 — English, Maths, Science and Humanities
- Planning the student’s program and tracking her progress
- A short written summary to the parents after each day
- Starting January 2027, ongoing through the school year

You’ll need

- Current QCT registration (Queensland College of Teachers) — this role requires a registered teacher
- Experience teaching secondary students, ideally across more than one subject area
- Blue Card (Working with Children Check), or eligibility to obtain one
- Confidence planning and sequencing a program independently, rather than following a set text
- Reliable transport to Pimpama

- Living in Australia with valid work rights

Who this suits

Relief and supply teachers wanting consistent weekly hours. Teachers working part-time or returning after a break. Retired teachers who want to keep teaching without a full load. Experience with home education is a plus but not required.

Please include in your application

- Your QCT registration number
- Your teaching qualifications, and the subjects and year levels you’ve taught
- Which two days a week you’re available, and whether mornings or afternoons suit
- Your suburb and travel time to Pimpama
- Blue Card status

Applications without a QCT number won’t be progressed.

What we offer

- $55 per hour plus superannuation, paid weekly — about $330 a week
- Consistent, predictable hours with one family
- We handle the family relationship, scheduling and payment — you teach
- Further work available if you want more students
