Cook – Bon Ap Petit Bistro

Bon Ap Petit Bistro is an established French bistro in Fitzroy, serving traditional French food in a warm and lively setting. We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team.

About the role

Working alongside our chefs, your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and cooking dishes according to our recipes and presentation standards.
- Organising mise en place for lunch and dinner service.
- Checking ingredients for freshness and quality.
- Maintaining correct food storage, temperature control and stock rotation.
- Accommodating dietary requirements and following allergen procedures.
- Keeping work areas, equipment and utensils clean.
- Following food safety and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Supporting efficient service and minimising food waste.

About you

We are looking for someone with:





- A relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience cooking in a busy restaurant kitchen.
- Sound knowledge of cooking techniques, food hygiene and protected food handling.
- Good organisation, communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to maintain consistent standards during busy services.
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Experience with French cuisine would be an advantage.
