About us

We are an independent, long established music memorabilia and pop culture retailer, and we have just opened our new store at Warringah Mall. We sell officially licensed band merch, collectibles and unique alternative designer pieces, plus anime, comic, movie and gaming lines. We support local bands and musicians, and we are building our store into a destination for music fans and the alternative community on the Northern Beaches.

About the role

As our Retail Assistant, you will be the face of the shop. You will need to be confident and comfortable working on your own, following our store guidelines and processes, and you will report to our Store Manager. You will receive full training to start with. After your training period, you will work independently, and your Store Manager is always available to support you whenever you need them during your shift. In quieter periods, you will also look after our social media and online store.

What you will do

- Open and close the store and look after it independently during your shifts
- Deliver outstanding customer service and turn browsers into buyers
- Work towards and report on sales KPIs and targets
- Handle stock receiving, merchandising, displays and point of sale
- Create and post content for our social media channels
- Update and maintain our online store

What we are looking for

- At least 2 years of solid retail experience, ideally including working on your own in a store
- A proven track record of working towards KPIs and sales targets
- Strong customer service skills and confidence talking with all kinds of people
- Broad, genuine music knowledge across genres and eras, with a strong understanding of rock, metal and the classics




- Interest in pop culture (anime, comics, movies, gaming) is a big plus
- Experience with social media is highly desirable, and online store experience is a bonus
- Reliable, organised and proactive

No previous experience is required, just a really positive attitude and a willingness to learn. However, a strong, genuine interest in music and pop culture is essential. If music and pop culture are not your thing, this placement is not for you. These placements are unpaid and do not come with a job offer.
