About the role

We are seeking some experienced Community Workers to plan, coordinate and

deliver community development and welfare support programs in Perth, WA. The

role works with individuals, families and community organisations to identify needs

and improve access to health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other

community services.

Key responsibilities

● Assess clients’ needs through interviews and evaluations, and plan, develop

and implement educational, training and support programs

● Monitor and report on client progress and program outcomes

● Refer clients to agencies that can provide additional health, welfare, housing,

employment or training assistance

● Assess community need and available resources for health, welfare, housing,

employment, training and related services

● Liaise with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and local

businesses about community issues and promote awareness of available

resources and services

● Prepare submissions for funding and resources, and reports for government

bodies and other agencies

● Maintain accurate case notes and comply with organisational, privacy and





safeguarding requirements

Skills and experience required

● Diploma or higher in Community Services, Community Development, Welfare

or a closely related field (or equivalent relevant experience)

● At least 1-2 years’ full time (or equivalent) experience as a Community Worker

or in a closely related community development / welfare support role

● Demonstrated experience assessing client and community needs and

implementing support or training programs

● Strong communication, liaison and report-writing skills

● Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or ability to

obtain)

● Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain)

● Current Australian driver’s licence and ability to work across Bunbury and the

South West as required

● Right to work in Australia, or eligibility to be sponsored
