Sales/Nursery Assistant

You will be directly responsible for creating positive customer experiences. Your enthusiasm, product knowledge and interpersonal skills will be essential in representing our brand and building lasting customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

Your daily job responsibilities will include:

- Potting, planting and re-potting plants
- Watering and general plant care
- Weeding, pruning and basic plant maintenance
- Moving plants, pots, soil and nursery materials
- Preparing plants for council landscaping and garden projects
- Maintaining clean and organised nursery areas
- Ordering of Stock
- Provide friendly, professional and attentive customer service to all shoppers, assisting with product enquiries and recommendations
- Process transactions accurately and securely using point-of-sale systems
- Assist with receiving, unpacking and shelving stock items according to company procedures
- Actively engage with customers to promote products, identify their needs and maximise sales opportunities
- Handle customer complaints and queries with professionalism, resolving issues or escalating appropriately




- Perform till reconciliation and cash handling procedures according to company standards
- Support the store manager and senior team members with operational tasks as required

What we're looking for

- Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for customer service
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment and manage multiple tasks
- Solid numeracy skills and reliability with cash handling and till operations
- Enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude towards work and teamwork
- Flexibility to work retail hours, including potential weekend and public holiday shifts
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- A willingness to learn about products and develop product knowledge

Pay: $27.81 – $28.89 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 per week
