Your role:

As a Weapons and Sensors Operator in the Navy, you’ll use combat data systems, radar and sensors to detect, track and identify air, surface, and sub-surface threats, working onboard ships and ashore.

Nuclear Submariner:

There is also the option to specialise as a submariner and be a part of the most exclusive workforce in Australia as a Weapons and Sensors Network Technician Nuclear Submariner.



You’ll operate the Navy’s sub-surface radar and combat data systems and be responsible underwater or above water operations.

Salary:

Upon completion of your initial military and employment training, you’ll enjoy a salary package starting from $86,453 for surface fleet, and $107,814 per year for submariners.

Period of Service requirements:

General Entry Sailor roles now have an Initial Minimum Period of Service (IMPS) between 2 and 3 years for all applicants.

Eligibility:

- For a surface fleet role, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and have passes in Year 10 English and Maths. For submariners, you will have to also have passed year 12 (no ATAR required).
