About the Role

We are an established hospitality group operating multiple hotel and entertainment venues across Sydney.

We are currently seeking reliable, experienced and hands-on individuals to assist with gardening, lawn care, groundskeeping and general property maintenance across our venues.

This opportunity is suitable for individuals who specialise in either gardening and lawn maintenance or general handyman and property maintenance work.

We are offering three employment opportunities:

- Part-Time – Gardener / Grounds Maintenance: For applicants specialising in gardening, lawn care and outdoor property maintenance.

- Part time – Handyman / Property Maintenance: For applicants experienced in general building repairs, maintenance and upkeep.

- Full time – Combined Gardener & Handyman: For multi-skilled applicants capable of independently performing both gardening and general property maintenance duties.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining our hospitality properties to a high standard, ensuring our venues remain safe, functional, clean and well-presented for staff and customers.

The role involves working across multiple properties, with tasks varying depending on operational requirements and maintenance priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Gardening & Grounds Maintenance

- Perform regular lawn mowing, edging, trimming and general lawn care.

- Maintain gardens, landscaped areas, garden beds and surrounding outdoor areas.

- Conduct hedge trimming, pruning, weeding and general garden upkeep.

- Remove green waste, fallen leaves, rubbish and outdoor debris.

- Maintain outdoor seating areas, courtyards, pathways and venue entrances.

- Operate and maintain gardening equipment, including lawnmowers, whipper snippers, hedge trimmers and blowers.

- Identify and report landscaping, drainage or outdoor maintenance concerns.

- Ensure all external areas are clean, safe and professionally presented.

Handyman & General Property Maintenance

- Conduct general property repairs and preventative maintenance across multiple hospitality venues.

- Perform minor repairs to doors, locks, handles, hinges, fixtures and fittings.

- Undertake minor painting, plaster patching, carpentry and general repair work.

- Assemble, install and repair furniture, shelving and other fittings.





- Assist with the upkeep of bars, dining areas, staff facilities, storage areas and outdoor spaces.

- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance issues, damage or potential safety hazards.

- Complete general maintenance tasks arising from day-to-day venue operations.

- Assist with minor repairs to walls, flooring, cabinetry and other building fixtures.

- Liaise with venue management regarding maintenance requests and priorities.

- Identify issues requiring specialist contractors or licensed tradespeople.

- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and organised condition.

- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures.

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate:

- Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, groundskeeping, handyman work or general property maintenance.

- Practical knowledge of relevant tools, equipment and maintenance procedures.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying maintenance requirements.

- Good time management and organisational skills.

- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.

- Ability to prioritise tasks across multiple properties.

- Good communication skills when dealing with venue managers and operational staff.

- Ability to undertake physically demanding tasks and work outdoors when required.

- Commitment to maintaining safe, clean and presentable facilities.

Essential Requirements

- Previous practical experience relevant to the position being applied for.

- Ability and willingness to travel between multiple venue locations.

- Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks efficiently.

- Sound understanding of safe work practices.

Highly Regarded

- Current Australian driver's licence and access to reliable transport.

- Previous maintenance experience within hotels, pubs, clubs, commercial buildings or hospitality venues, however not highly regarded.

- Relevant trade qualifications or practical experience in carpentry, painting, landscaping or general property maintenance.





- Experience coordinating with external contractors and tradespeople.

- Experience performing preventative maintenance across multiple commercial properties.

Employment Arrangements

Part-Time Opportunities

Part-time working hours will be determined based on operational requirements, experience and availability.

Full-Time Opportunity – Combined Role

We are also seeking a versatile, multi-skilled individual who can confidently undertake both gardening and general handyman responsibilities.

The combined full-time position will involve managing a variety of maintenance tasks across multiple hospitality venues, including outdoor groundskeeping, building repairs, preventative maintenance and general property upkeep.

This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, can manage their own workload and takes initiative in identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
