Solid State Engineering is looking for a Structural Engineer to assist with ongoing residential projects across NSW.

The role is suitable for someone looking for adaptable, project-based work with a growing consultancy.

Typical Projects

- New houses
- Duplexes
- Granny flats
- Alterations and additions
- Suspended slabs
- Footings and slabs-on-ground
- Retaining walls
- Structural inspections
- Stormwater design where experienced

Responsibilities

- Review architectural, survey and geotechnical information
- Complete structural design and calculations
- Provide engineering mark-ups for drafting
- Review structural drawings before issue
- Assist with revisions and technical queries
- Coordinate with our drafting and engineering team

Some drafting and client coordination will be handled internally.

What We’re Looking For

- Civil / Structural Engineering degree
- Experience with Australian residential structural design (5-10years)
- Good knowledge of Australian Standards and NCC requirements
- Ability to work independently and meet agreed deadlines




- Strong communication and attention to detail
- Australian-based preferred
- Chartered / CPEng / NER highly regarded but not essential
- Stormwater experience is a bonus

Payment

This is a subcontract, project-based role.

Payment is based on an agreed percentage of each project fee, depending on the scope, experience and level of responsibility.

The arrangement will be discussed during the interview, with the opportunity for increased project share as the working relationship develops.

Solid State Engineering manages client acquisition, client communication, administration and overall project coordination.
