We're looking for a Grounds Officer to help create outdoor spaces that residents, visitors and staff can enjoy year-round.

About the Role

Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager, you'll be responsible for the presentation, upkeep and maintenance of outdoor environments across multiple UnitingSA sites.

From lawn care and planting to irrigation maintenance and landscape improvements, you'll play an important role in ensuring our grounds remain safe, attractive and well maintained. Working both independently and alongside colleagues and contractors, you'll contribute to creating environments that enhance the wellbeing and experience of residents and visitors.

What You'll Be Doing

- Maintaining lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs and landscaped areas to a high standard.
- Undertaking planting, pruning, mulching, weed control and seasonal garden maintenance.
- Monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems to support healthy, thriving landscapes.
- Safely operating gardening equipment, tools and machinery.
- Identifying and reporting maintenance requirements, risks and site hazards.
- Supporting the overall presentation, safety and functionality of UnitingSA properties.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications & Compliance Requirements

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential).

Experience & Skills

- Experience in grounds, garden, horticultural or landscape maintenance.
- Sound knowledge of lawn care, irrigation systems and general horticultural practices.
- Confidence using gardening tools,



equipment and machinery safely.
- Ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities across multiple sites.
- A proactive approach to identifying issues and maintaining high standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
