The Roles

We are looking for a Geotechnical Superintendent and Geotechnical Compliance (QA) personnel to run a geotechnical drilling programme for our Tier 1 client in Central NSW, based out of Orange. The programme runs from November through to March with a likely extension into June, on a 5/2 roster for the Superintendent and 7/7 rosters for QA.

As Superintendent at $2,000/day, you own the programme. You manage the schedule and keep the crew organised, review drill plots and contractor invoicing, and keep the work efficient, on track and on task. You lead the field crew and work closely with the drilling contractors day to day. Local candidates are preferred for this role.

As Geotechnical Compliance QA at $1,300/day, you own the systems and processes behind the programme. You manage ITPs, keep inspection and test records in order and make sure the work meets client standards. Expect a mix of office work and time in the field, reporting to the Superintendent.





All flights, travel time and accommodation are covered.

To be considered you must meet the following criteria:

- Previous experience on geotechnical, exploration or resource drilling programmes in Australia.
- For Superintendent, a track record running drilling programmes, including scheduling, contractor management and invoice review.
- For QA, experience managing ITPs, inspection records and quality systems on mining or construction projects.
- Sound understanding of drill site setup, pad preparation and environmental controls.
- Strong safety leadership and a working knowledge of NSW WHS requirements on drilling sites.
- Located in or near Orange, or near an airport with access to Central NSW.
- Exceptional and professional communication skills to engage client and contractor personnel.
- Excellent time management and task prioritisation skills.
- Available to start in November.
- Current Australian drivers licence and full working rights in Australia.

How can you pay so much?

A company philosophy for the most productive and lowest overheads (no staff, offices or inefficient processes) and a mission to pay top dollar to get top talent, which in turn continues to build our brand.

Will I be out of pocket?

Not at all. We cover flights, accommodation, meals, along with uniforms, medicals and anything else the role requires. We also factor nominal time off into the package so the figure you see is genuinely comparable to a staff salary.

Do you hire international people?

Unfortunately no. We don’t have capacity to hire internationally, with the exception of New Zealanders who wish to FIFO for certain roles. If you are already working on a mine in Australia under a visa, such as a 482, we can take over that visa sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor you from overseas at this stage.
