About the role
Adaptcare Disability Services is seeking experienced, compassionate High Intensity Support Workers to support a young child with complex disability and health needs in the family home in Two Rocks.
We are looking for reliable workers who are confident providing attentive care, following individual care plans and working respectfully alongside the child’s family.
Your responsibilities
- Assist with nasogastric tube (NGT) feeding and care in accordance with the current feeding plan.
- Monitor for seizures and follow the individual seizure management and emergency plans.
- Support airway and secretion management within your training and assessed competency.
- Provide personal care, positioning and skin protection.
- Remain awake and attentive throughout active overnight shifts.
- Record care provided, observations and changes in the child’s condition.
- Communicate promptly with the family and supervising RN about concerns.
Weekend and public holiday shifts are also available, with times to be confirmed. Please state your availability and preferred shifts when applying.
What we are looking for
- Experience supporting children with complex disability or health needs.
- Experience with enteral feeding and seizure support.
- Strong observation, communication and documentation skills.
- A calm, dependable approach and respect for family routines and privacy.
- Willingness to complete participant-specific training and competency assessment before working independently.
Required checks and documents
- Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance.
- Current WA Working with Children Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate.
- Evidence of identity and Australian work rights.
- Relevant qualifications, training certificates and qualified references.
A Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV in Disability or relevant healthcare qualification is desirable.
