Bring your South Pacific destination knowledge and Amadeus experience to Nexus DMC. We are seeking a Senior Travel Consultant – Operations to help clients and travel agents plan and book individual and group travel, and to keep every part of their itinerary organised and accurately documented.

You will combine travel advice with hands-on reservations and supplier coordination, taking responsibility for your bookings and supporting travellers when plans change.

What you will do

● Understand clients’ preferences, budgets and special interests, and recommend suitable travel arrangements.

● Build itineraries covering accommodation, transport, transfers, tours and activities, considering availability, routing and cost.

● Obtain supplier availability and pricing, discuss options with clients and agents, and make and confirm reservations.

● Manage booking amendments and cancellations, liaising with suppliers to resolve service issues and special requests.

● Check travel connections and prepare accurate itineraries, confirmations, vouchers and other travel documentation.

● Explain relevant destination information, travel dates, baggage limits, visa and entry requirements, insurance and customs considerations.

● Review passenger details, service inclusions,



dates and supplier confirmations before issuing documents.

● Respond to enquiries and provide operational support before and during travel, referring complex matters to the Operations Manager as needed.

● Keep booking and payment records current and ensure clients, agents and suppliers receive timely updates.

What you will bring

● At least 18 months of relevant experience in travel consulting, reservations or travel operations.

● In-depth knowledge of South Pacific destinations, travel products, accommodation, transport and touring options.

● Practical experience using Amadeus GDS is essential.

● Ability to independently coordinate complete itineraries, manage multiple bookings and resolve travel-related issues.

● Strong communication, customer service and organisational skills, with close attention to booking and document accuracy. Qualifications required

● An AQF Certificate IV in travel or tourism, or an equivalent relevant qualification; alternatively, an AQF Certificate III in a relevant field with at least two years of on-the job training.

● Applicants without a relevant formal qualification must have at least 1 year 5 months of relevant experience.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
