A Senior Leadership opportunity is available at the Greek Orthodox Community School of Mentone and Districts – Taxiarches, for an experienced and passionate educator of Greek Language and Culture, commencing January 2027.

Taxiarches is a Not-For-Profit school that has been proudly serving the families of the Mentone and surrounding areas since 1961. It has a long tradition of striving for excellence and establishing a strong and positive learning workplace for all students.

It operates on a part- time basis on Friday evenings from Mentone Girls’ Grammar School.

The School is constantly evolving to meet current needs and practices. It has a strong ethos, values interaction between staff, students and parents/guardians and there is a solid focus on community and respect for all individuals.

The exciting opportunity (part time 10 hours per week) is for a passionate and innovative experienced school leader, who has excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Greek and English, a sound knowledge of curriculum requirements and necessary knowledge of current language teaching methodology.

The ideal candidate for this position will need to have





- Educational Administration (ideally of 5 or more years)
- Teaching qualification from an accredited tertiary teacher education program or one recognized by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) as equivalent.
- Tertiary qualification in Modern Greek Language and Culture studies and in Methodology.
- Proven educational leadership.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to build rapport, interact effectively at all levels within the school community and build authentic, collaborative relationships.
- A current Working with Children Check (Mandatory)
- Salary negotiable for the right candidate.
