Spartan Tuition is a growing Melbourne-based tutoring provider supporting more than 300 students each week across our group and private tutoring programs.

As we continue to expand our VCE programs heading into 2027, we are looking for confident, knowledgeable and engaging VCE Chemistry tutors to join our team.

Multiple casual teaching opportunities are available, with opportunities to build a consistent weekly teaching load and take on greater academic responsibilities as you develop within the team.

About the role

As a VCE Chemistry tutor at Spartan Tuition, you will:

- Deliver engaging, structured and academically rigorous VCE Chemistry classes at our Mount Waverley office
- Help students develop a strong understanding of key chemical concepts and their applications
- Build students' confidence with calculations, problem-solving and exam-style questions
- Support students in preparing for SACs and VCE examinations
- Provide clear, detailed and constructive feedback on student work
- Teach using established course materials and resources, with support from our senior academic team
- Contribute to a positive, active and supportive classroom environment

Teaching opportunities are available after school on weekdays and across weekends, delivering classes face-to-face in Mount Waverley.

What we are looking for

We are looking for tutors who:

- Have completed VCE Chemistry
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of VCE Chemistry
- Can explain difficult scientific concepts clearly and accurately
- Are confident working through chemical calculations and problem-solving with students
- Can help students apply their knowledge to unfamiliar and exam-style questions
- Communicate clearly and engage senior secondary students effectively
- Are reliable, organised and professional
- Bring energy and genuine engagement to the classroom

Highly regarded

The following are highly regarded but not essential:





- Strong academic achievement in VCE Chemistry
- Previous VCE Chemistry tutoring or teaching experience
- Experience preparing students for SACs and VCE examinations
- Current or completed tertiary study in chemistry, science, medicine, engineering or a related field
- Experience developing educational resources or course materials
