Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and reliable Truck Driver to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy vehicles, transporting goods safely and efficiently, completing scheduled freight runs, securing loads correctly, maintaining transport records, and complying with road safety and workplace requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

- Operate heavy vehicles to transport goods to and from customer sites, depots, warehouses, and delivery locations.
- Complete local, regional, and interstate freight runs as required by the business.
- Determine suitable delivery routes and schedules in line with customer requirements, road conditions, vehicle suitability, delivery timeframes, delays, and operational changes.
- Position vehicles safely for loading and unloading.
- Load and unload goods using appropriate lifting, handling, tipping, or freight movement equipment where required.
- Ensure goods are correctly placed, secured, restrained, and covered before transport.
- Estimate and check load weights to ensure safe weight distribution and compliance with mass limits, axle weight restrictions, and load limit requirements.
- Inspect freight for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues to management.
- Conduct pre-start, during-trip, and post-trip vehicle checks.
- Check tyres, brakes, lights, mirrors, fluid levels, load restraint equipment, and general vehicle condition.
- Report vehicle defects, breakdowns, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
- Complete delivery dockets, consignment notes,



run sheets, logbooks, vehicle checklists, and proof of delivery records.
- Confirm the condition of goods at pickup and delivery points and obtain delivery confirmations, signatures, or delivery certification where required.
- Follow road transport laws, workplace health and safety procedures, fatigue management, load restraint, speed, and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
- Communicate professionally with management, dispatch staff, customers, warehouse staff, and other drivers.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

- Safe and competent operation of heavy vehicles.
- Positive understanding of load restraint, safe loading and unloading, weight distribution, and freight handling procedures.
- Ability to carry out vehicle inspections and identify safety or maintenance issues.
- Familiarity with GPS and basic electronic delivery systems.
- Good knowledge of fatigue management, Chain of Responsibility, WHS requirements, and road transport compliance.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet delivery schedules.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Good communication skills when dealing with management, dispatch staff, customers, warehouse staff, and other drivers.
- Physical capability to perform freight handling and manual tasks.
- Professional attitude, reliability, punctuality, and clean driving conduct.

Role Requirements:

- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as per the business requirement.
- This position is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents, and holders of valid work visas.

Qualifications and Experience:

- A valid Australian Heavy Vehicle Driver Licence, preferably HR, HC, or MC.
- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant truck driving experience.




- A relevant AQF Certificate II or higher qualification, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Ability to safely operate heavy vehicles across local, regional, and interstate routes.
- Good understanding of load restraint, safe loading and unloading, weight distribution, and freight handling procedures.
- Ability to complete logbooks, delivery dockets, consignment notes, manifests, inspection checklists, and other transport records accurately.
- Knowledge of fatigue management, workplace health and safety requirements, and road transport compliance.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet delivery schedules.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Physically capable of performing freight handling and manual tasks.
- Professional attitude, reliability, punctuality, and commitment to safe driving practices.
