About the role

Access Engineering Systems is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated 3rd & 4th Year Apprentices in Air Conditioning (HVAC) to join our growing team on the Central Coast, NSW. This is a full time opportunity where you will continue to develop your technical skills and knowledge in the air conditioning industry.

As you progress through your final years of apprenticeship, you will take on more complex responsibilities, work more independently, and gain valuable hands-on experience that will prepare you for a successful career in HVAC. This role offers the perfect blend of structured training and real-world application, allowing you to contribute meaningfully to our projects whilst completing your qualification.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration systems across residential, commercial, and industrial applications

- Performing diagnostic testing and troubleshooting on HVAC equipment to identify faults and inefficiencies

- Conducting routine maintenance and servicing of air conditioning units to ensure optimal performance

- Working safely on site, adhering to all health and safety regulations and company protocols

- Keeping accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on each project

- Collaborating with experienced technicians and learning from their expertise to build your technical knowledge

- Assisting with the commissioning and testing of newly installed systems

- Supporting the team with tool maintenance and workspace organisation

- Gradually taking on greater responsibility for project work as you progress through your final apprenticeship years





What we are looking for

- Currently undertaking a 3rd or 4th year apprenticeship in Air Conditioning or HVAC, or equivalent qualification

- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand complex mechanical and electrical systems

- A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving with the ability to think logically through technical challenges

- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when working with precision equipment and measurements

- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

- A commitment to health and safety practices, with willingness to follow all safety protocols and procedures

- Physical fitness and ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, at heights, and in challenging weather conditions

- A valid driver's licence is advantageous

- Reliability and punctuality, with a professional attitude towards work

- Eagerness to learn and develop your technical skills further under the guidance of experienced professionals

- Previous experience in air conditioning, refrigeration, or related trades is desirable but not essential
