About the role

As our Centre Cook / Chef, you will play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our little learners. We believe that nutritious food plays an important role in children's growth, development and wellbeing. You will bring creativity, care and a little kitchen magic to the meals we provide our children each day.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing fresh, nutritious and delicious meals and snacks for children aged from birth to five years

- Planning and creating balanced, child-friendly menus that encourage healthy eating habits

- Catering for individual dietary requirements, food allergies and intolerances

- Managing kitchen stock, ordering supplies and working within a weekly food budget

- Maintaining a clean, secure and organised kitchen in line with food safety requirements

- Completing required food safety documentation, temperature checks and kitchen records

- Working collaboratively with our educators to promote positive mealtime experiences

- Bringing fresh ideas, creativity and enthusiasm into our kitchen

About you

- Has a genuine passion for cooking and preparing wholesome meals

- Is reliable, organized and confident working independently

- Has an understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling practices, or is willing to undertake training

- Can manage their time effectively in a busy kitchen

- Blue Card Required or willing to obtain





- Enjoys being creative and trying new recipes

- Has a positive, friendly attitude and enjoys being part of a team

- Is willing to learn about children's nutrition, allergies and dietary requirements

- Holds or is willing to obtain the relevant food safety training and required childcare screening clearances
