About The Role

- Manage a varied commercial litigation practice across business disputes, insolvency, construction, property and regulatory matters.
- Take ownership of your matters, manage client retainers and provide strategic, commercially focused legal advice.
- Work with a substantial specialist litigation team handling complex and interesting matters.
- Play a senior role in supervising and developing junior lawyers.
- Progress based on your capability and performance, with genuine opportunities to take on greater responsibility.

Responsibilities

- Draft, review and settle complex legal documents, pleadings and court materials, and represent clients in court as required.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Manage insolvency matters, including receiverships, voluntary administrations and liquidations, while supporting insolvency practitioners.
- Advise clients on ASIC and ATO investigations, penalty notices and related regulatory issues.
- Provide advice on regulatory compliance and disputes within the construction sector.

Skills & Experience

- Significant experience in commercial litigation, ideally at Senior Associate level or operating at that level.




- Robust technical expertise across commercial disputes, with exposure to areas such as insolvency, construction or property litigation highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage matters, client relationships and retainers.
- Confidence in settling complex legal work and supervising junior practitioners.
- A genuine, down-to-earth approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
