Purpose of the role
The Community and Stakeholder Engagement Advisor will assist the Lead in building the Business Unit within Greville. The role also offers secondment opportunities, working closely with project delivery teams to support community and stakeholder engagement and to build trusted relationships.
The Advisor will help ensure residents, businesses, councils and authorities are informed and heard, so that projects are delivered with fewer avoidable complaints and approval delays.
Key accountabilities
1. Client delivery: prepare engagement plans, stakeholder analyses, communications materials and consultation reports on assigned engagements.
2. Stakeholder relationships: coordinate engagement with residents, businesses, councils, agencies and client delivery teams, and escalate emerging issues early.
3. Business development: attend networking events, forums and conferences across SA, VIC and QLD along with contributing to proposals, capability statements and client follow-up.
4. Records and reporting: keep issues registers, engagement logs and reports to a standard that holds up in approvals and client governance.
Interstate travel is expected on an Ad Hoc basis. Time on client sites and in client offices varies by engagement. Out-of-hours events and community sessions are occasionally required.
Opportunities
- Help build a new business unit: the role sits within a business unit being established across SA, VIC and QLD, with input into methodologies, templates and how the service is positioned in each market.
- Exposure to diverse project types: work spans civil infrastructure, social housing, rail and commercial projects, so the Advisor builds experience across sectors rather than one asset class.
- Working alongside the Community and Stakeholder Engagement Lead: the Advisor works alongside the Engagement Lead on client relationships, proposals and strategy.
- Build a profile across three states: regular attendance at industry events and conferences builds the Advisor’s network and reputation with clients, councils and agencies.
Selection criteria (desirable)
- Experience in community or stakeholder engagement on infrastructure, rail, housing or built environment projects.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- IAP2 training (preferred, not essential).
- Strong written communication, including reports used in approvals.
- Commercial awareness and comfort in networking and client-facing settings.
Salary $110,000 – $120,000 + Super
