About the Company
At Cirql, we don't focus on industry specifics, our core specialisation is partnering with middle-market organisations that are experiencing change. This client is the perfect example of that - a private equity-backed group that has grown through acquisition and is now building the processes and systems to scale sustainably.
Cirql is proud to represent the group operating across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Its NSW and Queensland footprint spans multiple operational businesses with a clear growth strategy that relies on smarter ways of working.
This is a business that moves at pace. Decisions are made close to the operation, leaders are hands-on and entrepreneurial, and face-to-face relationships matter. P&C; here is valued as a partner that helps the business grow.
The Opportunity
This is a pivotal, standalone role leading People & Culture for the group's NSW and Queensland operations, reporting to the Group People & Culture leader. As the People & Culture Manager, you will be the senior P&C; presence on the ground in the region, embedding Group standards across sites that are ready to take the next step in maturity.
You will spend most of your time out in the business, predominantly four days on site, partnering with operational leaders to improve how things are done and supporting recently acquired businesses through change. Some of your time is set aside for improvement projects that shape how the group scales. If you enjoy working alongside frontline leaders in an operational, growth-stage environment, this is that environment.
What You'll Do
The role covers the full employee lifecycle with a light-touch, advisory approach,
across multiple sites and with quarterly travel to Queensland. Spending roughly four days per week on the ground working alongside site managers and operational supervisors, you will provide pragmatic counsel on performance management, day-to-day employee relations, and core leadership practices. You will partner with recently integrated businesses to embed standard group frameworks, helping entrepreneurial leaders replace manual, legacy workarounds with streamlined processes. You will also carve out time for key workforce projects, such as strengthening recruitment governance, boosting retention, and uplifting data integrity
- Partner with state and site leaders to embed Group P&C; processes and policy, giving every site a consistent foundation to grow from.
- Manage people matters across the employee lifecycle, including performance management, grievances and exits, so issues are resolved early and fairly.
- Lead change programs that help recently acquired businesses adopt Group standards without losing operational momentum.
- Coach operational leaders to make more considered people decisions, explaining the business case behind each change.
- Deliver improvement projects, such as strengthening the recruitment and onboarding process, to help the group scale efficiently.
- Support recruitment governance and hiring decisions to improve the quality and retention of new starters.
- Use P&C; data and accurate people records to inform priorities and track progress.
What You'll Bring
You are an experienced, commercially minded P&C; generalist who feels right at home in rugged, fast-paced operational or industrial environments and commands immediate credibility on the depot floor. Low-ego and practical, you cut through corporate noise and communicate with candour, holding constructive conversations with strong-minded operational leaders without damaging relationships. You thrive in autonomous, standalone regional setups, knowing how to establish transparent boundaries, set realistic priorities, and execute at pace.
In addition, you will bring:
- Significant experience in a senior generalist P&C; or HR role, managing a broad range of people matters including performance management and employee relations.
- Experience supporting operational or frontline workforces, and an understanding of what those environments require.
- A track record of influencing leaders and leading change, including with stakeholders who need some convincing.
- Confidence in having constructive yet difficult conversations and setting clear priorities while keeping relationships strong.
- Experience developing policy and procedure, and using P&C; data to guide decisions.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline; experience in logistics, industrial or similar operational sectors is well regarded.
Not sure if you meet these requirements? Please apply - we are happy to discuss your individual circumstances.
