Sinosteel Midwest Corporation is an established iron ore exploration and mining company operating across the Midwest region of Western Australia. The Company holds multiple resources and tenements throughout the shires of Perenjori, Morowa, Cue, Meekatharra and Murchison. Each year, Sinosteel delivers systematic earthworks and drilling programs to advance exploration and support resource growth. Recently, Sinosteel has also taken responsibility for overseeing two operating mines managed by a local company, which collectively produce approximately 4 million tonnes of iron ore per annum.

We are currently seeking a Project Officer to join our team at our CBD office on St Georges Terrace. About the role

The Project Officer is responsible for project budget preparation, monitoring and review, with a particular focus on tenement expenditure and compliance. The role also supports Project Managers in coordinating project activities and monitoring projects operating under Right to Mine Agreements (RTMAs), particularly in relation to royalty payments and key contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and maintain project budgets in consultation with Project Managers, Geologists and the Finance Team.

- Monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets, review variances and forecast future expenditure.

- Identify potential budget overruns, underspending and expenditure shortfalls,



and report issues to management.

- Maintain accurate budget records and prepare regular expenditure reports.

- Monitor expenditure against minimum expenditure commitments for the Company's tenements.

- Liaise with Project Managers, Geologists and Project Administrator to understand exploration plans, technical requirements and anticipated expenditure.

- Identify potential shortfalls in minimum expenditure and assist in coordinating expenditure priorities to support tenement compliance and renewal requirements.

- Provide relevant budget and expenditure information to support project administration and Tenements Compliance team.

- Assist Project Managers in monitoring projects operating under RTMAs and monitor royalty payments due to the Company.

- Track key contractual obligations, project milestones and agreed actions.

Essential Criteria

- A bachelor's degree or higher in Commerce, Project Management, Finance, a related discipline

- At least 3+ years' experience in project coordination, budget monitoring or cost control.

- Sound Excel skills and the ability to prepare expenditure reports and analyse budget variances.

- Basic understanding of mining tenements and exploration activities,



or willingness to develop this knowledge.

- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

- Fluency in both Chinese and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
