About the role
You will deliver and coordinate welfare and wellbeing services for veterans and eligible dependent family members. This is a non-clinical role with scope to exercise initiative and judgement within established policies, qualified boundaries and delegated authority.

Key responsibilities
Assess client needs and develop practical support plans
Provide welfare assistance and coordinated referrals to other service providers.
Recognise safety concerns and arrange timely escalation and specialist support
Administer financial assistance within approved delegations
Maintain confidential records, review progress and follow up outcomes
Guide wellbeing volunteers and contribute to service improvement About you
Relevant qualifications in community services, welfare, social work or a related field, or equivalent skills and experience
Experience assessing welfare needs and coordinating support for people with complex circumstances
Respectful communication and a person-centred, trauma-informed approach




Sound judgement, effective workload management and an understanding of safeguarding and qualified boundaries
Accurate recordkeeping and responsible handling of confidential information and financial assistance
The ability to build referral relationships and work constructively with volunteers and community services
Experience supporting veterans and families, knowledge of veteran services, and relevant wellbeing or advocacy training are desirable

The Yeronga Dutton Park RSL Sub-Branch is an independent, self-funding Public Benevolent Institution assisting veterans and families experiencing illness, disability, hardship, bereavement and social isolation. Operating from a facility in Brisbane's inner-South, we work alongside other service providers delivering compassionate, respectful and confidential support.
