Sommelier – The Mulberry Group

Salary:
$80,000–$90,000 per annum, excluding superannuation About The Mulberry Group The Mulberry Group is a Melbourne hospitality group operating distinctive restaurants and bars with a strong focus on food, wine and exceptional guest experiences. We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Sommelier to deliver skilled wine service and contribute to the development of our beverage offering.

Key Responsibilities
Provide expert wine recommendations and professional wine service to guests.
Assist with the development, maintenance and presentation of the venue's wine list.
Work closely with chefs and service teams to recommend appropriate food and wine pairings.
Manage wine inventory, cellar organisation, stock rotation and ordering.
Develop and deliver wine training for front-of-house employees.
Maintain relationships with wine suppliers, distributors and producers.
Ensure compliance with responsible service of alcohol and relevant liquor licensing requirements. Skills and Experience Required




Minimum two years of relevant experience in a sommelier or specialist wine service position, preferably within premium dining.
Comprehensive knowledge of Australian and international wine regions, grape varieties and producers.
Demonstrated experience in wine service, food pairing and cellar management.
Formal wine qualifications, such as WSET or equivalent, are highly regarded.
Excellent communication, presentation and guest engagement skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively within a qualified hospitality team.
