Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Fixed Plant) | Pilbara | 8:6 Days | Contract
Plant defects don't fix themselves, and this team doesn't want another report about them. They want an engineer who'll get out on site, find the cause and put in a fix that lasts.
You'll join a major, long-life Pilbara operation as the go-to mechanical maintenance engineer for fixed plant. The goal is simple: less downtime, more throughput and a safer site.
The safety culture is robust, and you'll be backed by people who want practical solutions.
What you'll be doing
Backing up maintenance and operations with fault-finding, repair scoping and shutdown support
Reviewing inspection reports and running fitness-for-service assessments
Leading Defect Elimination, including root cause analysis, failure investigations and fixes that stick
Writing repair specs and maintenance strategies that lift equipment availability
Supporting equipment upgrades and change management, including drawings, reports and documentation
Bringing your SME input to future expansion and improvement projects
Helping with procurement, directing contractors and agreeing priorities with the planning team
What you'll bring
A Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent)
5+ years in a processing plant or fixed plant setting
Hands-on exposure to RCA and defect elimination, reliability improvement and shutdown work
A working knowledge of condition monitoring, such as vibration, lubrication and thermography
A solid safety mindset and a straight-talking, practical style on site
Nice to have
Reliability Engineering or Project Management qualifications
RAMS exposure (FMECA / RBM modelling)
