Optimum Consulting is working with a well-established coal producer to appoint an experienced Mining Manager.
You'll report to the Site-Based Leader and be accountable for all mining activities on site including production, cost control and people.
This is a hands‐on leadership role for someone who enjoys delivering the mine plan and building high‐performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the mining function to deliver safe, consistent production against plan and budget
Drive productivity and equipment performance through strong short interval control and continuous improvement
Lead, coach and develop superintendents, supervisors and operational teams
Work closely with technical services, maintenance and the CHPP to improve performance across the whole operation
Ensure compliance with the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act **** and the site's safety and health management system
Manage budgets, forecasting and cost control for the mining operation
Build a positive,



accountable and safety-focused culture
About You
Strong production background in mining, with a proven record of hitting targets
Leadership experience at superintendent level or above, managing large multidisciplinary teams
Sound knowledge of mine planning, scheduling and cost management
Solid commercial sense and a data-driven approach to decisions
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence people at all levels
Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering is desirable
