Group Financial Controller | ASX-Listed | Melbourne (Hybrid)
The opportunity
Join an ASX-listed, clinical-stage biotechnology business. The company is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials and works regularly with the FDA. It is a lean team of around 20, with research and development delivered through contract manufacturers.
The current CFO/Company Secretary, who has been with the business for five years, is moving towards semi-retirement. You'll own the finance and governance agenda and be a key partner to the Board and executive team.
The role
Lead ASX compliance and corporate governance
Contribute to strategic planning and decision making
Own cash flow management and keep the leadership team across the position
Prepare Board communications and reporting, and write Board proposals
Perform financial analysis
Lead and support an experienced accountant who handles much of the day-to-day finance operation
Build relationships with key stakeholders and develop a strong understanding of the regulatory environment
About you




Qualified accountant (CA or CPA)
Experience as a Financial Controller, Group Financial Controller or similar senior finance role
Exposure to a listed workplace is highly regarded
Strong understanding of corporate governance and compliance obligations
Confident working with the Board and presenting to senior stakeholders
Hands‐on approach, comfortable with MYOB and Excel
Strategic mindset with solid analytical and cash flow management skills
Interest in the biotech and regulatory space
