Requirements
Valid NJ Instructional Certificate (Teacher of English or Subject Matter Specialization – English Language Arts Grades 5-8)
Knowledge/Experience working with anthology and novel-based instruction;
Proficient at modeling/teaching/assessing written expression;
Knowledge of the scope and sequence of NJ Student Learning Standards for ELA;
Knowledge of state assessment test specifications for language arts (ie: NJSLA)
Ability to integrate technology effectively to enhance instruction
Knowledge of Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Teaching – a plus
Knowledge of best practices in middle level education
Willingness to collaborate with fellow department members
