About the role
This is far more than a laboratory-based testing role.
You will lead technical assessments, provide expert compliance advice and reports, manage client projects from enquiry through to certification, and play a key role in mentoring engineers while maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence.
Key elements of the role but not limited to are:
Leading compliance assessments and certification activities across a diverse range of electrical and electronic products
Providing expert advice on EMC, electrical safety, radio, wireless and international regulatory requirements
Ensure all work complies with ISO/IEC ***** and internal procedures
Reviewing and approving technical reports, test plans and compliance documentation
Managing customer projects and acting as a key technical contact throughout the assessment process




Interpreting complex Australian and international standards and translating them into practical outcomes for clients
Supporting quotation and tender preparation for specialist testing and certification services
Coaching and mentoring engineers and technical staff
Contributing to the ongoing development of laboratory capability, technical expertise and quality systems
Ideally, you will have:
Degree-qualified Engineer in Electronics and Communications, Physics or related technical professional qualification
Minimum 5 years' experience in product compliance design, testing certification or regulatory engineering
Solid knowledge of EMC, electrical safety, radio or telecommunications standards
Experience within a NATA-accredited laboratory, certification body or similar technical environment
Strong understanding of ISO/IEC ***** and NATA accreditation requirements
Ability to write, review and interpret technical reports and compliance documentation
Strong client-facing communication skills and commercial awareness
Leadership capability with the confidence to mentor and guide technical teams
