Gungahlin Concrete Services is seeking an experienced Concrete Placing and Finishing Supervisor to join our team in the Canberra region.
This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing concrete placement and finishing.
Ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency on site.
As Concrete Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading teams, monitoring quality, coordinating resources and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
This role is integral to our operations and directly impacts the successful delivery of our projects and the professional reputation of Gungahlin Concrete Services.Key responsibilitiesSupervising and coordinating concrete site activities on assigned projects, ensuring work is completed to specification and within agreed timelinesLeading and managing site teams, including concrete operatives, labourers and apprentices, providing direction, support and performance feedbackConducting daily toolbox talks and safety briefings to ensure all team members understand site-specific hazards and work proceduresMonitoring concrete placement, finishing, curing and quality control processes to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and industry standardsLiaising with project managers, clients, engineers and other contractors to coordinate site activities and resolve issues promptlyMaintaining accurate site records, including timesheet documentation, equipment logs,



safety reports and quality inspectionsConducting Pre Pour inspections and identifying potential issues to be communicated the builder that may impact project deliveryEnsuring compliance with workplace health and safety legislation, company policies and environmental requirementsManaging equipment, tools and materials on site to minimise waste and maintain site organisationReporting progress, challenges and safety incidents to management and contributing to continuous improvement initiativesWhat we're looking forTrade qualifications or recognised certification in concrete work or civil construction, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a concrete construction or supervisory roleDemonstrable experience supervising site teams and managing concrete placement, formwork, finishing and quality control processesCurrent or eligible for White Card (Construction Induction Card) and driver's licenceStrong knowledge of Australian workplace health and safety legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act and relevant industry codes of practiceProficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and site plansExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and collaborate with clients and stakeholdersOrganisational and time management skills,



with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet project deadlinesPhysical capability to work on construction sites in varying weather conditionsProblem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving site issuesPreferred: Experience with formwork systems, reinforced concrete, or commercial and infrastructure projectsAbout usGungahlin Concrete Services is a leading concrete construction specialist based in Canberra.
