Presenting 152 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites with carefully restored features and adorned with exclusive art pieces from local artists, The Tasman reflects the true spirit of the destination.The Opportunity Supporting the day-to-day maintenance and presentation of the hotel, the Maintenance Handyperson plays a key role in ensuring our facilities remain safe, functional, and maintained to the highest standards.
You will undertake general repairs, preventative maintenance, and respond to maintenance requests across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and hotel facilities.
Working closely with all departments, you will apply your practical skills, attention to detail, and proactive approach to ensure a seamless environment for both guests and associates.
Your ability to troubleshoot issues, priorities tasks, and maintain exceptional standards will be essential to your success in this role.Key AccountabilitiesComplete general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilitiesConduct preventative maintenance programs to ensure the ongoing performance and safety of hotel assetsRespond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritize work orders effectivelyTroubleshoot and resolve basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting,



and mechanical issuesAssist with room inspections and ensure all facilities meet brand and safety standardsMaintain plant and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiencyLiaise with external contractors and service providers when requiredEnsure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements and hotel policiesMaintain accurate maintenance records and complete administrative tasks as requiredUphold the highest standards of presentation, safety, and operational excellence throughout the hotelProfileMinimum 2+ years' experience in maintenance, trades assistant, facilities, hotel maintenance, or handyperson roleDemonstrated experience carrying out general repairs and preventative maintenance across a variety of building systemsStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficientlyExcellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesA hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to work independently while contributing positively to a team environmentKnowledge of Workplace Health & Safety practices and safe work proceduresExperience within a hotel, hospitality, commercial, or facilities environment is highly regardedRelevant trade qualifications, licences, or certifications will be highly regardedMust have full working rights in AustraliaFlexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays when requiredRewards For Work, Perks For Your LifestyleJoin a supportive, progressive,
